A presentation of the Presidency’s visual elements was given 50 days before the beginning of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. During the meeting in the Palace of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Konrad Niklewicz, Spokesperson for the Polish Presidency, presented the official souvenirs of the Polish Presidency and the furniture which will be used in official meetings. |
The designers employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to design and produce the souvenirs took part in the conference. They have designed the following items:
Monika Wilczyńska and Smaga designers – spinning tops
Their work has been shown at prestigious design events: Dobry Wzór 2010 (Good Design 2010), Dobry Wzór 2009 (Good Design 2009), Heimtextil Fair in Frankfurt 2009, Najlepsze Dyplomy 2009 (The Best Diplomas 2009), Coming Out 2009, Łódź Design 2008.

Dorota Kempko – cufflinks
A young award-winning designer: an honorary award in ASP Rocznik 2009 (The Academy of Fine Arts, 2009) competition, Central Museum of Textiles, Łódź (2010), a prize in the Telewizja Polska S.A. Dolina Kreatywna (Creative Valley) competition and the main prize of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in the Projekt 2008 (Design 2008) competition, The Academy of Fine Arts, Łódź (2008).

Ania Kuczyńska – document cases
One of the most famous young fashion designers. Her style is often described as decorative minimalism. In 2006 she won two prestigious awards: Elle Style Awards and Doskonałość Mody “Twojego Stylu” (Fashion Perfection of “Twój Styl” magazine) –Designer of the Year. British Vogue and the website style.com called her “the future of the East”. She graduated from Accademia Koefia in Italy and Esmod in Paris.

Tomek Rygalik – furniture
A young star of Polish design. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in London and Pratt Institute in New York. He works with Moroso, Artek, Iker, Noti, Vox, Heal’s, ABR, Ideal Standard and others. He has a design studio at the Faculty of Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. His projects have been shown at many furniture shows, in Berlin, London, Munich, New York, Tokyo and Valencia, among others.
